Applications
Crude C4 annual-production sales
Sell an annual crude C4 production quantity under a defined delivery schedule. Buyers assess a continuing supply obligation, including transport and plant availability, rather than a single prompt parcel.
Offering
The offer specifies the crude C4 material, total annual quantity and minimum purchase. Ratable delivery spreads the obligation through the delivery period. The contract needs to explain how that schedule works, particularly where production is interrupted by a planned shutdown.
Choices and constraints
A fixed annual quantity and a plant shutdown can coexist, but buyers need to know how deliveries will be scheduled around the interruption. They also need the product specification before making a binding price decision. An unspecified crude C4 stream must not be assumed equivalent to a specified butadiene product.
Transport responsibility matters throughout the contract. If the buyer supplies railcars and takes delivery at the plant, it must arrange sufficient equipment for the agreed schedule. Credit approval and the minimum purchase quantity can constrain participation.
Commercial value
An auction can bring competing demand together for a clearly defined annual supply commitment. Buyers can evaluate the material against their needs over the year, while the seller can compare offers under common quantity and delivery terms.
The price basis, allocation method and contract conditions must be settled before bidding. Clear annual terms help make offers comparable; they do not guarantee a particular price or eliminate production and transport constraints.
