Olefin Polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene)

Commercial value

Bring demand together for a specified grade or offgrade lot and shipment window. Buyers evaluate the material against their production requirements, with credit, payment timing and railcar turnaround explicit in the offer.

For procurement, qualify the required grades and delivery obligations before comparing supplier prices.

Polyethylene resin sales

Prime HDPE with a specified grade and shipment month. An offering can specify one grade or permit a defined grade choice after award. The supplied product specification and delivery terms apply to each offering.

Polypropylene resin sales

Homopolymer or impact-copolymer resin with stated properties and an identified additive package. Melt flow, film additives and the specified use distinguish offerings; the product name alone does not define the material.

Offgrade resin sales

A defined offgrade lot with its stated properties, additive information, color and contamination status. Buyers assess whether the material fits their process. Brand and resale restrictions, where specified, form part of the offer.

Resin export sales

Bagged LLDPE for seller-arranged shipment to eligible destination ports. The example uses CFR named destination port, a base material price in EUR/tonne and published destination freight surcharges. Payment requires an irrevocable, confirmed letter of credit at sight through an acceptable bank.

Resin container sales

A seller can offer whole containers of a specified resin. The offer defines loading weight, packaging, delivery responsibility, shipment window and payment terms before binding bids.

Resin procurement

For example, a buyer can specify the PE or PP grades that qualify, the plant to supply and the delivery period. Quantities are in MMlb, with prices in cents/lb on a common delivered basis. Any grade substitutes, delivery alternatives and payment terms must be agreed before bidding.

Quantity

Railcar sales use whole railcars, subject to bidder credit. The export example uses whole truckload increments with the bagged weight stated for each destination. The offering specifies the bid unit separately from the mass used for pricing.

Delivery

A stated delivery location and shipment window, with order deadlines and any destination freight adjustments defined before bidding.

Price being bid

For railcar sales, a flat price in cents/lb. Buyers bid the number of railcars they will purchase at each posted price.

Payment and credit

The offering specifies the payment period; one railcar example uses Net 10 days from shipment. Available credit limits the quantity a customer can bid. Buyers account for payment timing in their bid price.

Railcar return

A defined free-time allowance after constructive placement, followed by detention charges if railcars are not released.
